Thus, ideal prerequisites to become a part of the top trainer squad on edudip. Whether webinar novice or old stager, in today’s blog entry Conny Röhm will tell us which factors play an important role when establishing an appealing webinar offer and what it takes to be successful in the long term.
edudip: Please tell us a bit about you and your professional background.
Conny Röhm: My name is Conny Röhm. I am a studied equine scientist and the owner of the largest independent, scientific consultancy in the field of horse nutrition in Germany for almost 10 years. We have a strong seminar system in the area of adult education with about 60 seminars, lectures and webinars per quarter. I also conduct a mobile office and operate across Europe. I lived and studied in the Netherlands as well as in England and was a lecturer at a Dutch faculty of business administration in the field of horses and horse nutrition. As an author, I write for journals and of course books in my specialty. My job is to make complex facts understandable, exciting and accessible for everyone. Only those who have fun learn something.
edudip: Why did you start to offer your webinars on edudip?
Conny Röhm: I have been giving webinars for several years. With edudip, however, much has been simplified since we no longer have to take care of the registration and billing. Platform and webinar software are easy to use, thus we do not need other complex technical solutions.
edudip: Since when have you been really successful with your webinars?
Conny Röhm: Since 2010 and since January 2015 on edudip.
edudip: What strategy did you follow, how did you market your webinars and how did you build your fan base?
Conny Röhm: The fan base already existed before I started to hold webinars on edudip. I’ve been in the field for many years. Additionally there is my media presence in the trade press and the demand on the market. Besides my books and articles, my live seminars and, above all, my presence on various fairs are also a good multiplier.
edudip: Do you have a tip for our online-trainers or the those who want to become one?
Conny Röhm: Diligence, many hours of preparation and a good professional training are the cornerstones. You need a very good IT equipment and good lectures. A cheap microphone, a bad camera, a daringly cleavage and an untidy room in the background are absolute attention and professionalism killers. An unprofessional and linguistically unconfident lecturer does not make it any better. You have to have fun yourself to turn your webinar into a professional performance on a large stage. A good teacher should be able to teach. In addition to the expertise, it is definitely an advantage to be familiar with teaching concepts, have a trained language or a speaker training. So if you are looking for quick and easy money with your webinars, you will not be successful. A good webinar needs to be planned, rehearsed and of course professionally designed from A to Z.
